A course reader is a publication type used for teaching in universities and academia. A course reader is made up of a collection of existing texts, course slides, and notes. Common forms of course readers include photocopy packs or PDF documents. Course readers require copyright clearance.
In the case of a course reader, you will usually have to give information for both the original publication and the reader itself. Look at your course reader's publication information to find the year it was first assembled and the instructor who assembled it.
Cite your source in the text thus: (Author course reader publication date, course reader page). Note that there is no comma between the author and the date. Cite your source in your references section thus: Author. Course reader date. "Title of Article."
Typically, a screen reader will start at the top of a website or document and read any text (including alternate text for images). Some screen readers allow the user to preview information, like the navigation bar or all the headings on a page, and skip the user to the desired section of the page.
Course readers may be ordered or picked up anytime during normal business hours. Once our initial stock has been sold, reprints will be offered based on consumer demand. Reprints will be available the next day after they have been ordered.

StudentPrint will print course readers authored by the professor, if the professor controls copyright of the material (lab manuals, slides, exercises, etc.)
It is MIT's policy that all material contained in course readers must have prior permission from copyright owners. MIT Copytech has a Copyright Service that is integrated into the production process.
Course readers ordered online through study.net will be ready for pick up within 1-2 business days. When ordering you can select to pick up at either our E52-076 Sloan location or 11-004 main campus location.
