Some students find the process of choosing a major and a minor to be daunting. The good news is, nothing needs to be set in stone. You may change your minor or major at almost any point in your academic career, and you may add on a minor later if you want. When selecting your major, consider your hobbies and things that you’re most interested in.
A student who wishes to complete a second major concurrently with his or her primary major of record must obtain written permission in advance from the appropriate departments or programs and colleges.
Since minors are intertwined with majors, students receive a degree for their primary concentration, and the minor is often mentioned on their transcripts. You can’t get a degree for a minor independent of your major.
Is a Minor an Associates Degree? Minors and associate’s degrees are not the same. There are multiple ways to get your second bachelor's degree. You can take additional courses while earning your first degree or apply to another institution for a second degree. If you are accepted, you may be able to get credit from previously completed courses towards your second bachelor's degree.
Dean's List. If you complete at least 6 credits (in courses graded A, B, C, D, or F) with a GPA of at least 3.5 in a term and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 at UMGC, you are eligible for the dean's list.

No more than six credits (or two courses) may be applied to satisfy both the requirements of a minor and a major program. No course may be used to satisfy the requirements of more than one minor. All courses taken for a minor must be completed with a minimum grade of "C-".
