It would be a huge red flag if you got caught lying in your application. You're not going to get interviews. You're not going to get an acceptance. It would likely get you kicked out of medical school if you were already accepted when they found out.

AMCAS will send your initial application back to you with any changes they may have made, and it is your responsibility to verify if the changes they made are correct. How GPA is calculated for AMCAS applications. Historically for the AMCAS application, if you repeated a course, all grades would be counted. (All credit hours earned will be counted and averaged for your final GPA.) They have always taken into account all of the courses you've taken, regardless of repeating courses.

You can add letters of recommendation after submitting your AMCAS application; in fact, this is one of only 3 sections in the AMCAS application that can be modified after submission. Yes, you can enter medical school with a 3.0, but the odds are very low, you should have an excellent score on the MCAT. You can of course easily get into med school with a 3.3 and of course a 3.4 GPA.Feb 14, 2021
So, yes, you can do poorly in required courses and still get into med school, but, they may require that you retake and pass the course with a higher grade. It depends on the particular program how the grades "count".
