A: WGU uses “competency units” because it emphasizes learning instead of only seat time to reflect the scope of each course. WGU Academy uses “credits” because more students are likely to transfer their courses to schools that are more familiar with credits. In many ways the two are equivalent. Because there’s a seamless integration between WGU and WGU Academy, there’s an easy path to transfer Academy credits into WGU competency units; students can send their Academy transcript to WGU with little more than a click of a button. Sending Academy transcripts to other institutions is, frankly, a bit more complicated but not burdensome.

I start in November!!!!

I am so excited to one be almost done with my bootcamp and two to start my software development BS in November!!!!!

Can't believe it's over

Started this program in the middle of the pandemic last year in August with the intention of finishing within a year. Although I wasn't able to reach that goal by the calendar date, the 1 month extension was a lifesaver and helped me complete it before the start of a third term.

Finished my first term with 28 CUs

It took me awhile to figure out how it all works. Spent way too much time on Applied Probability and Statistics (C955), Best Practices in Management: Projects, Staffing, Scheduling and Budgeting (D073), and English Composition I (C455).

I started at WGU July 1st, 2020 with 12 transfer credits. Earned the remaining 109 and graduated with my BA in Special Education in April. Immediately re-enrolled to start my MSCIN July 1st of this year. Today I finished. WGU saved my life

I'm done!

A sincere thank you to the WGU community here for all of your help!!!!!!!
