Not surprisingly, the greatest number of tornadoes occur in the Detroit and Flint areas. There appears to be a clear cutoff line from Muskegon to Saginaw to Port Huron, with points to the south much more susceptible to tornadoes than points to the north. This also corresponds with the tension zone across Michigan.
