The online Course Equivalency Form is to be completed by the student, and the student must include course descriptions for all courses selected on the form. The form is then sent to each department chair in the major the course is housed for review, and once an equivalency decision is made, the student is notified.
Initially students are eligible to schedule up to 17 hours. Once all scheduling priorities have opened credit hour limits will be raised to 19 hours. Students can review the semester specific schedule booklet for this date. Students on scholastic probation can schedule a maximum of 16 hours in fall or spring semesters.

The Center for Advising and Counseling (UCAC) is the administrative unit which can serve as the academic home for students who have attempted 30-plus hours of college credit and who do not yet met the admission requirements for one of the University's degree-granting senior colleges.
Students enrolled in an LSU senior college can schedule an appointment with their respective college academic counselor through the Navigate Student App. Ensure to select “Academic Advising” as the appointment type to be directed to their specific senior college for assistance.

Auditing Courses Students who audit a course are subject to the same class attendance requirements as other students and are expected to be prepared for and to participate in class discussion. They will not take the exam and do not receive credit, but the audited course is indicated on the student's transcript.

Transfer credits from another institution will have to be evaluated by the Admissions Analyst in Student Services. Evaluations may take 1-4 weeks after submission of official transcripts. Transfer credits must be earned at a regionally accredited institution.
Withdrawing from a class can affect a student’s academic record including financial aid, enrollment status, veteran benefits, or the amount owed to the institution. Withdrawals must be completed in person and requires a meeting with an Academic Advisor. Please stop by Student Services, C2100, or call 815-825-9375.
No record of a dropped course will show on a student’s academic record. Deadlines for dropping a course can be found here. If a student would like to be removed from a course they are registered for after the drop refund deadlines (Important Dates and Deadlines, then it would be considered a withdrawal.
The last day to withdraw from a course with a “W” falls around the 10th week of classes. During interim and summer sessions both intervals are considerably shorter. Consult the UA academic calendar for specific dates.
An undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credit hours in a regular fall or spring semester in order to be considered a full-time student. 16 credit hours is considered a full load. Any hours over 16 are assessed an overload fee.
