Microbiology is all about bacteria and viruses/ other small organisms, you learn lab techniques you get tp grow cultures, identify and examine types of bacteria and learn differences between differeng types like gram negative, gram positive etc. You learn how they are pathogenic and how our body defends against them and also how they defend and protect themselves against us. You get to do case studies. You also learn all about the structures of different microorganisms, you will also probably talk about medications that target specific organisms and how they kill it or subdue it. Very interesting course and you learn a lot and it is a lot of information but take it all in stride. You also learn a lot about immunity and what not lots of stuff about our immunity to microorganisms and much much more.

Does A&P help with microbiology?

Your A&P will help you in micro as far as cellular physjiology. I LOVED micro, esp the lab. Growing out the cultures and running the tests. Our last project was identifying 2 unknowns. It was SO MUCH FUN. Like being a detective. I toyed with the idea of going to med tech school for a day because of micro (that's what medical technologists do-lab rats LOL)
