Paralegal Studies (PLS) Division: Social Sciences Division. PLS 101 Intro. to Law for Paralegals (3 Credits) This course provides an introduction to the legal profession in general, the specific role of paralegals, and their relationship to other legal professionals. Students explore the American legal system and are introduced to federal and state courts.
PLS 480 - Internship in Political Science (1-6 hours) Core Curr. EL Students work with selected political agencies, to study practical political problems from the perspective of the discipline. Course may be repeated for a maximum of six credit hours. Pass/Fail. Prerequisite: consent of the instructor. PLS 483 - Reading in Political Science I (1-3 hours)
The course examines in detail the Code of Professional Ethics and other related standards of proper conduct.

Acute Psychiatric Emergencies (APEx) focuses on the emergency care of patients presenting with acute psychiatric crisis. The course is designed to deliver the necessary knowledge and skills to trainees in both emergency medicine and psychiatry as well as to nursing and other allied health professionals that are involved in their care. It will allow a shared understanding of the problem and also foster a common language between professionals that expedites excellent care.
