While you can always opt for a classroom setting, most drivers nowadays will choose online traffic schools because it’s more convenient. You may take a defensive driving course through a computer with an internet connection.
There are many benefits to taking your speeding ticket class online. For starters, they can be much faster than taking your course in a classroom based setting. In some states, such as California, there are no “course timers” required while you go through the traffic school.
The first thing you need to be aware of is what courses are certified in your state. In some states, you are forced to go through whatever course the government has set up. Gooooood luck with that if that’s the case!
I’m not sure why you would want to do this to yourself, but if you prefer getting lectured at in a classroom setting with a bunch of other traffic violators, it’s as easy as finding the closest class you can find. Many speeding ticket classes are split up over a couple of days, so you always do have that option.
Frankly, I am surprised by a couple of the answers here. This is a legitimate question. I agree that you can ask for an extension, and the more support you have for your reason the better the chances of the extension.
I agree with the first response to your question. Continuances (extensions) are a routine part of the court process and judges will generally consider granting them if a reasonable excuse is given for the need.
Nobody hear can grant you an extension so what does it matter what we might say? Get down to the traffic court ASAP and request another extension.
You can always ask for an extension. It may or may not be granted. Make sure you take any doctor's note for your migraines or something to show proof that you had a legitimate excuse. Good luck!
So, instead of actually asking for another extension, you ask strangers on the internet if you can request one? I don't get it. Why not ask and see?
