Course Records The North Course record is 61, by Mark Brooks in 1990 (second round, nine birdies and one eagle) & by Brandt Snedecker in 2007 (first round, nine birdies and one eagle). The “Old” South Course record is 62, by Tiger Woods in 1999 (third round Buick Invitational, eight birdies and one eagle).
The beastly 612-yard par-5 13th hole at Torrey Pines South Course proved to be the toughest for the average player, where scratch golfers gained 0.90 strokes per round.

The North Course is more popular for the less-experienced golfer but will still put up a good fight for the better ones. The North is bordered on its north end by the Torrey Pines State Reserve.
