Two legendary golfers, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are set to play together at an official PGA Tour event. The pair has already filed the application for the upcoming U. S. Open, according to a Twitter post by TWLEGION. Golfers usually have to wait until their application has been accepted by the authority to know whether they would play or not.
He later arrived at the course, hit balls for 20 minutes, and then headed to the 10th tee with caddie Joe LaCava and friend Rob McNamara. Given the serious nature of Woods’ injuries suffered in a car crash on Feb. 23, 2001, the fact he is this close to playing his surreal.
And yet, despite 45 Tour wins, including six majors, and raking in nearly $100 million in prize money alone, Mickelson has never made it to No. 1 in golf’s world rankings, despite being in the top 10 for 700 weeks and spending five years in the number two spot-always behind Woods.
Mickelson was a right-hander who played the game left-handed, a super-confident, superstar collegiate golfer at Arizona State University who honed his skills on his own personal practice facility in his backyard.
Following the 2022 Masters, Woods did say he planned to compete at The Open Championship at St Andrews in mid-July. Woods is also a three-time winner at The Open Championship, with two of his victories coming at St Andrews (2000 and 2005).
