Swampfire is a pretty accurate name for this course. A real test of your will and patience, the course features water and more water, on all but two holes.
Formerly known as Oakridge Country Club, Duck Creek Golf Course is a short target course that plays only around 6,500 yard s from the tips (par 71) and around a very hacker-friendly 6,000 yards from the white tees.
The Lakes Course at Firewheel is a links-style course that is loaded with water, and was a Dick Phelps creation on his return to Garland in 1987. Hole 7 is the most difficult–a long 549-yard par 5 that requires an approach over a pond.
Firewheel Golf Park in Garland is home to the 27-hole Bridges Course, which is comprised of three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. Opened in 2001, the course has been host to several U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur events. The nines offer plenty of variety, each utilizing the tree-covered rolling terrain in different ways. The Champion nine is the second longest nine.

There is simply no better site than Firewheel Golf Park for tournaments. The Jerry Andrews Pavilion offers an open-air setting with a beautiful view of the Lakes course. Our front room by the clubhouse offers a great patio setting for your registration.
The City of Garland has initiated a study to determine a general development concept for the former Eastern Hills Country Club (EHCC) site. The process includes a variety of stakeholders and an Advisory Committee.
The EHCC property represents a significant opportunity for the Garland community. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the redevelopment potential of the land with the goal of creating a general development concept that will satisfy the mutual objectives of the stakeholders listed above.
The property in question is a 178-acre site in the 3000 block of South Country Club Road developed as a golf course/country club in the mid-1950's and operated for approximately 60 years. In 2013, Eastern Hills County Club filed for bankruptcy, and the property was sold in April of 2014.
In January 2015, a consultant team led by Kimley-Horn, Inc. was selected to assist the City in this process. The team also includes Prologue Planning Services LLC and Strategic Community Solutions LLC.
