CITI training courses expire every 3 years and CITI will send e-mail reminders 90 days before your courses expire. The refresher courses are automatically added to your curriculum, and will be visible, when you log into your account.

When you register you will be asked to create your own login and password. Affiliate with NSU. If you already have a CITI account but are not affiliated with NSU, there is no need to create a new account. CITI allows researchers to affiliate and complete CITI training with multiple institutions.
The CITI Human Subjects Training is the only course required by the IRB, however, there may be other requirements set by other NSU departments relating to your area of study. Contact the head of that department, college, or academic unit for additional information.
The Basic Course consists of 7 Basic Modules, 4 Elective Modules, and 3 Optional Modules. In order to be CITI certified, you are required to pass the 7 core Basic Modules and 2 Elective Modules.
If your CITI training is expired, we ask that you update your CITI training by completing the refresher course before February 1, 2020 in order to remain in good standing with both federal regulation and TC IRB.
If you were CITI certified prior to November 2016, your CITI training is expired. If you were CITI certified through any institution other than Teachers College, Columbia University, your CITI training is expired.
