Basic Rifle Training Course

The Basic Rifle Training Course is designed to give students an extensive introduction to gun safety and teaches the skills necessary to effectively operate a rifle-style weapon.

How large are the classes?

The instructor prefers a smaller class size, to ensure that each student gets adequate instruction during the live-fire exercises on the range. For this reason, we prefer to keep our classes at a maximum of 10 students per instructor.

Do you offer both indoor and outdoor ranges?

For the purposes of this class, we will only be using outdoor ranges for our live-fire marksmanship exercises.

Do you offer training courses for other types of firearms or just rifles?

We do offer a “Basic Pistol Course.” If you are interested learning more about the course, click this link for more information.

Are there any prerequisites to taking this course?

There are no prerequisites for this course and no experience is necessary. However, we do ask that students be at least 16 years of age. A minor waiver is required for all students under the age of 18.

I have several years of experience and am comfortable handling a rifle. Is this class for me?

You are more than welcome to take this course, no matter what your skill level is. However, our “basic” level courses are designed specifically with inexperienced shooters in mind.
