Each state requires a specific amount of credit hours, obtained from online chiropractic CE courses or in-person seminars, to renew a chiropractic license. Chiropractors in Illinois are required to complete 150 Continuing Education Hours every 3 years. A minimum of 60 hours of required CME shall be obtained in formal CME programs and a maximum of 90 hours of the required CME shall be obtained in informal CME programs or activities.
Chiropractic licensees are required to obtain 24 Chiropractic Continuing Education Hours every two years before June 8th. Out of the 24 CEs, 2 hours must be in ethics and law and 4 hours must be in in the following subject areas: history taking and physical examination procedures, chiropractic adjustive techniques, chiropractic manipulation techniques, or ethical billing and coding. Ohio. Ohio chiropractic licensees are required to complete 36 Hours of Chiropractic Continuing Education every two years. Out of those 36 hours , 2 must be in a Board Mandated Topic, such as ethics and professionalism, human trafficking awareness, or rules of the Board.
