Sep 18, 2020 · A good drive for me is 275. Extra dry conditions maybe a little longer, wet conditions shorter. I typically play courses around 6700-6900 seems to be a pretty decent challenge for me overall. Part of me wants punished and to play the tips at the Ocean Course. The other half wants to enjoy it and play the two's or 3's.

They should get people more humble that can be more sympathetic. It is realy a bad expetience. The course is great but these guys are terrible. If you can avoid the caddy.

The Ocean Course is walking only except during the summer months (June, July and August), when carts are allowed for golfers teeing off after 10am (carts restricted to paths). Caddies are not mandatory for anyone walking the course but are highly recommended.

While it is a course that's hard by the ocean and the play is definitely affected by the ocean breezes, it's not a true "links" layout because there are few holes where players can bounce and run shots in to greens.

There are no weak holes on the course and a terrific figure-eight routing makes for a wonderful and diverse walk. This is certainly one of Dye's best and is clearly an elite option for public golfers. Playing the Ocean Course on May 10th at 10am. Walking only and caddie is included in the price, just need to tip them based on if it's a forecaddie or a personal caddie. I have never played with either before but I'm thinking I will do a personal caddie for the whole experience.

Probably Scott Hall, I've had him as a caddie twice and he was awesome both times. He caddied for me the weekend of my wedding too and had me cracked up the entire time. Absolutely fantastic caddie, definitely will request him next time we go back.

not to derail but I have never played with a caddie before....when do you actually hand the money over to the dude? Like do you do it right there on the green or inside the shop?

The Ryder Cup Bar, which seats 30 inside and 24 outside, is the ideal hang for lunch, a post-round cocktail or even casual dinner. The intimate Atlantic Room (80 seats) serves up the more refined dining experience that will likely require a shower, change of clothes and a reservation.

The most convenient, and undisputed best way, would be a golf package. Although playing the Ocean Course does incur a surcharge for most golf packages, it's still the most affordable way to play and staying to indulge in one of golf's most special resorts (and settings) is a no-brainer.
KIGR is open to the public and tee times can be made without renting property at the resort. Discounts are offered for guests of the resort.

Tee times for groups of less than 12 golfers may be cancelled 48 hours in advance without penalty.
Refunds to a Kiawah Island Golf Resort gift card are provided for golfers unable to complete their round due to weather on a pro-rated hole-by- hole basis (i.e. if 6 holes are completed, the golfer is issued a gift card worth 2/3 the cost of the round).

On Kiawah Island, we experience summer weather from late May through late September with average highs ranging from 83-88 degrees Fahrenheit. Winters are mild with temperatures ranging from 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit between early December and early March and spring and fall are pleasant.
