Jan 17, 2020 · You can use a maximum of 45 transfer credits toward the BHCC associate degree and a maximum of 75 percent of the total number of credits required for certificate programs. Once an official transcript has been evaluated and you have registered for classes, transferred in courses will appear on your BHCC transcript with a letter grade of TR.

Quantitative Reasoning: UMass Boston requires students to complete a quantitative reasoning requirement that can be met with Bunker Hill's MAT171 or MAT194. Alternatively, the quantitative reasoning requirement can be waived by transferring MAT181 (which will also count toward UMass Boston's general education math distribution requirement).

Students may receive credit through Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Level (A-Level), and College-Level Examination Program (CLEP). Strong scores may allow for a course waiver or course credit.
UMass Amherst adheres to the VALOR Act Academic Credit Evaluation Policy. We use the American Council on Education (ACE), CLEP, and DSST guidelines and apply the same standards to credits for military education as those applied to coursework from accredited colleges and universities.
Up to 75 transfer or test credits may be applied to UMass Amherst graduation requirements. However, students are required to earn at least 45 semester credits in residence at UMass Amherst. In order to graduate, all students must complete a minimum of 120 semester credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Admitted transfer students receive a preliminary transfer credit evaluation to view on-line once admitted. A more detailed transfer credit evaluation will be posted on student records after they have paid their enrollment fee and matriculated.
Through Reverse Transfer, students who made progress toward an associate degree prior to transferring may apply credit earned at a four-year institution back to their community college to complete the associate degree requirements.
