Transfer Services assists new, current and graduating BHCC students with the transfer process and transfer opportunities to and from the college. Transferring Credits into BHCC. Students who have attended another college or otherwise earned credit may apply for transfer credit and advanced standing at BHCC.
Students who are completing an approved associate degree at a Massachusetts community college may be eligible to apply through the MassTransfer program. Other transfer students should apply through the Common Application. You are required to select an intended major, as well as choose an additional major of interest.

MassTransfer seeks to reward community college students who complete associate degrees at Massachusetts community colleges before they enroll in linked bachelor's programs at Massachusetts state universities or University of Massachusetts campuses.

Up to 75 transfer or test credits may be applied to UMass Amherst graduation requirements. However, students are required to earn at least 45 semester credits in residence at UMass Amherst.
Transfer Application Requirements Minimum GPA: A minimum high school grade point average of 3.00 is required of transfer applicants (on a 4.0 scale). A minimum college grade point average of 2.5 is required of transfer applicants (on a 4.0 scale).
While on-campus housing is primarily reserved for first year students, there may be opportunities for transfer students to live on campus. Please contact housing@umb.edu to inquire about opportunities to live on campus.
UMass Boston units are treated as transfer credits at UMass Amherst. Students must earn a grade of "C-" or better to transfer the course. Letter grades earned at UMass Boston will not be used in grade point average calculations and the credit will not be counted as residence credit.
