Check the status of your degree application in Web4U in two ways: in the Degree record at the bottom of your Academic History, or at the top in the Degree/Cert Status section of Degree Works. "Applied" means your application has been received and charged the fee, but is not yet processed. "Pending" means you've been sent an official Degree Evaluation to your student email and are set up for graduation, and eligible to make a commencement ceremony reservation at the beginning of your graduation quarter (optional). The status will stay at "Pending" until all grades are received in your final quarter and your degree is awarded.
If all degree requirements are not completed by the close of the quarter, a notification will be sent to your student email address informing you of the problem (s). If the problems are not resolved by the date on the email, your degree will not be awarded and your graduation file will become inactive. You will then need to submit a Degree Reapplication (no fee) to graduate under the requirements in effect at the time of your future graduation.
Graduation - The receiving or awarding of an academic degree. After a student completes the requirements, the Registrar's Office will award the degree and the student has graduated. Commencement - The ceremony in which graduating students are recognized for earning degrees.

Course availability and format are flexible during summer (and generally throughout the year) at Western, so that you can plan around your busy work, class and social schedules.
Western’s 6-week session runs June 21 - July 29; the 9-week session runs June 21 - August 19. In addition, there are other courses with varying start and end dates throughout the quarter. Academic year quarters cover 11 weeks, so shortened versions of courses during summer quarter mean that many of them are offered in a concentrated form.
You are advised to take a lighter credit load during summer due to the concentrated nature of study. The maximum credit load is 18. Special permission from the Registrar is required to take additional credits. Full-time status is 12+ credits. Half-time status is 6+ credits.
Tuition and fees are due the first day of the quarter. A $40 late payment fee is applied for charges not paid by July 15, and the 15 of every month thereafter. A 1% interest charge will be assessed monthly on all past due accounts .

An 'asynchronous' or fully online course is delivered such that students can complete the work at any time in a day (or sometimes a week). These courses do not require that faculty or students be at their computer during the scheduled class time.

WTA is limiting the number of people that can ride on its fixed route buses to no more than 12 passengers . Up to 15 will be allowed if those riding together are couples or parents with children.
