How do I submit my Course Request? Once you have chosen your desired courses and recorded their Course Registration Numbers or CRNs -- the unique five-digit code assigned to each class (ex. 19627) -- go to the HokieSpa webpage, click “Course Request,” and enter and submit your selected CRNs.

You can drop a class using Hokie Spa through the University's posted deadline (usually about six weeks into the semester). The class is removed from your schedule and your transcript. Force-adding is an administrative process that allows the department offering the course to place students into courses they cannot add themselves. A common reason for a force add is unprocessed transfer credit for pre-requisite courses students have taken at other institutions.

Pass/Fail Grading System The P/F grading option is available to all undergraduates who have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours at Virginia Tech and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. These restrictions do not apply to courses that are only offered P/F.
