Independent Study
Instruction is provided in a self-study, self-paced format where the instructor and student mutually establish method (s) of communication.
Off Campus Face to Face
Students and instructor will conduct class within an academic building/room at the same time at an off campus location (i.e., not in Grand Forks at UND).
On Campus Face to Face
Students and instructor will conduct class within an academic building/room at the same time (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8 - 8:50 a.m. in Gamble Room 1).
Online Asynchronous
Students can view instructional materials each week at any time they choose. This option does not include a live video lecture component at specific times throughout the week. Students should still be aware of deadlines and follow their blackboard syllabus accordingly.
Online Synchronous
Class meets online at particular times (e.g., Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8 - 8:50 a.m.) and student is expected to log into class during those times.

Passing time between classes : 15 minutes. Three hour classes are scheduled on M-W-F in three 50 minute blocks. Two hour classes are similarly scheduled but only in two of the three days.

Can the registrar verify enrollment?
The Registrar's Office can only verify enrollment for the term in which the class (es) are registered. This would include those classes that would extend beyond the term, such as correspondence, co-ops, and field experiences or while completing a class that received an incomplete. Do foreign students need a social security number?
Foreign students will need to have the Registrar's Office fill out all verification forms. These students do not have a Social Security number, and therefore will not be in the Clearinghouse information.
Can you register for flight training on campus connection?
Students are not permitted to officially register for the course in Campus Connection until flight training is complete.
Can you override a flight course?
Unlike other classes, capacity in a flight course is primarily dependent on flight instructor availability rather than classroom space or instructor preference. The professor will not provide you with a permission number or "override" to let you into a flight course.

All faculty, staff and students will log in with NDUS.identifier username (typically first.lastname) followed by "@NDUS.edu". Your NDUS.identifier is what you currently use to log into Campus Connection, Blackboard and HRMS Self-Service (ex. [email protected]).

Your sign-in email address ends with @ndus.edu because your account was created as part of the North Dakota University System (NDUS). This is only used to sign in to your account. Your email address that you will give out is still NDUS.Identifier @UND.edu (ex: [email protected]).
