What is DCP in Florida?

Welcome to the College of Design, Construction and Planning (DCP) at the University of Florida. Established in 1925, the college has become one of the largest design, construction and planning institutions in the country with more than 1,300 students.

DCP distance learning students do not have access to the onsite Student Health Center services. The majorities of UF student organizations consist of on-campus students and hold meetings on the UF campus. Therefore distance learning students do not have access to actively participate in student organizations.

The following is a breakdown of the per credit hour amount of a student’s tuition for a Florida and Non-Florida resident during the 2020-2021 academic year:

Dental, Medical, PharmD, Vet. Med., Phys. Therapy, Public Health, Law JD, and LL.M. Term Fees

Dental, Medical, PharmD, Vet. Med., and Phys. Therapy, Public Health, Law JD and LL.M. students admitted in Fall 2019 and later are assessed tuition and fees for the academic year which are payable in two installments (per-term) in the Fall and in the Spring. All Law programs are assessed the appropriate hourly rate in the Summer semester.

Notes

If a student registers after the regular registration deadline, the student will be assessed a late registration fee of $100.00. Likewise, if a student does not pay tuition by the fee payment deadline there is a $100.00 late payment fee assessed.

About Quest 1

Grounded in the Humanities (H) subject area of the General Education (Gen Ed) program, UF Quest 1 courses provide first-year students the opportunity to explore essential questions about the human condition that are difficult to answer and hard to ignore: What makes life worth living? What makes a society a fair one? How do we manage conflicts? Who are we in relation to other people or to the natural world? Quest 1 courses are rigorous and multi-disciplinary.

Eligibility and Deadline

Faculty from the College of Liberal Arts (CLAS), the College of the Arts (CoTA), and the College of Design, Construction, and Planning (DCP) are invited to develop a new Quest 1 course and apply for the Temporary Quest designation for Spring 2023. Course Development Support

New Temporary Quest Courses: A Quest course development stipend is provided to faculty who develop a new "temporary" Quest course that is taught Spring 2023. A faculty member who is the sole developer will be awarded a $3,000 course development stipend as a "lump-sum" payment if the course is taught Spring 2023.

How to Apply

To receive the Temporary Quest 1 designation for Spring 2023, submit your application by February 14, 2022 into the Approval website (see Approval Website Guide ). You will need to add the following two documents to your application.
