Even though we as trumpet players must, and should, play a lot exercises we should NEVER neglect the music. In fact music is even more important than exercises that’s why we wanted to start playing the trumpet in the first place and not because we wanted to play the second exercise from the Herber L. Clare book, all day long.
It is very important to play fun trumpet songs, or fun music that you like, every week. This will help us keep the motivation high and get us more connected with the music itself, which should be our ultimate goal.
