If you are not in Scheduling Assistant, click on the link on the left side of the page. Find the class you want to drop. Hover over it and click to select the course. A window will pop up. Click on the box that says "Drop SUBJ/CRS"

You cannot 'drop' after the deadline but you still have the option to withdraw. Withdrawing is similar to dropping except when you withdraw you will receive a W as a grade on your transcript.
If you choose to drop a class after the drop deadline, it is considered “withdrawing” from a class. When you withdraw from a class, instead of having a grade on your transcript, it will be marked with a “W,” and according to the school policy, you may not get your money back that you had paid to enroll.
Dropping. While not as ideal as taking and passing a course, dropping a course has the fewest negative repercussions of the options included here. “A drop from the course is usually done early in the semester and has no impact on the student's grade, GPA or transcript,” Croskey says.
Important Policies. All holds must be removed before a student can drop a course or withdraw from the Institute. There is no refund for dropped courses. In order to qualify for a refund, a student must completely withdraw from the Institute before the deadline.
Deadlines for dropping courses indicate if you a) are eligible for a full or partial refund and/or b) can drop the course in good academic standing (i.e. the dropped course will not show on your transcript) but you will not receive a refund of any of your tuition fees.
Important Definitions. Course Drop: Removal of a course from your schedule prior to the end of the first week of class. Course Withdrawal: Any removal of a course from your schedule after the end of week one using the online form provided.
Dropping a class with financial aid won't necessarily affect your FAFSA and financial aid award. If you're taking extra classes, for instance, you could probably afford to remove one from your schedule.
As mentioned above, in most cases it's OK to drop a class, especially if you haven't dropped a class before. Colleges understand that sometimes circumstances change, and having one dropped class on your transcript won't hurt your college applications.
1, or maybe 2, W's is generally okay, but >5 is a major red flag. This sends the message that when the going gets tough, you cut and run rather than tough it out & do what you need to do to succeed.
Dropped courses do not appear on the student's official academic record (which includes their academic transcript) and do not incur tuition and fee charges. Students may Drop courses from their class schedules through the end of Late Registration.
Talk to Your Professor You likely can't just drop the class without talking to the professor (even if they're a bad one) or at least the TA. They are accountable for your progress in the class and for turning in your final grade at the end of the semester.
