You must print the certificate and submit a paper copy to the driver license office when you take your driving test.

The ITYD course is a free one-hour video course developed by the DPS that explains the dangers of distracted driving. When you complete the ITYD course, you will be emailed a completion certificate. Most people pass each quiz the first time. However, if you fail a lesson quiz, you will have to retake it as many times as necessary until you achieve a 75% or better (3 out of 4 questions correct) before moving on to the next lesson.
Give thumbprints. Pay the required fee. Pass a vision exam and take the driving test. Have your picture taken. If you complete all of these steps and pass your driving test, you will receive a receipt that you may use as a temporary driver license until your permanent license arrives in the mail.
The Texas Adult Driver Education course is made up of 10 lessons and meets the mandated 6-hour course length requirement. It covers everything from Texas driving laws to the safest defensive driving techniques. In order for you to fulfill these 6 hours, the course employs timers that require a minimum amount of time be spent on each lesson.
The course consists of 10 lessons in total. A short multiple-choice quiz is given after each lesson. You must answer at least three of the four questions correctly to proceed to the next lesson. You can retake a quiz as many times as needed to pass.

Validation questions are based on personal information you provide us about yourself. You will be asked a question periodically throughout the course to verify your identity.
