Affordable: With an in-state tuition rate of $295 per credit hour, online courses are just as affordable as traditional courses at SUNY Oneonta -- and hundreds of dollars less than private-school tuition.
Beginning on the sixth (6th) class day, all schedule adjustments processed, regardless of when the instructors' signatures were obtained, will be assessed the $20 late add/drop fee. See "Key Dates and Deadlines" for deadlines pertaining to mini and half semester courses.
A $20 late fee is assessed and a "W" grade is assigned.
A non-academic leave of absence allows a student to take one semester off from completing coursework as part of their academic program of study. A leave of absence can be extended for an additional semester, by submitting a request in writing to the Office of Student Development.
If you are a first semester student, and haven’t attended any classes, please contact the Admissions Office to withdraw at 607-436-3009.
College Fee: Refundable only if student withdraws prior to the first day of classes.
All currently matriculated students who wish to take courses from another institution must obtain Prior Approval from the Academic Advisement Center. This is to ensure that the course is appropriate for the individual student and will be accepted by SUNY Oneonta if passed. Only courses required for a degree may be approved and transferred.
A Course Substitution is submitted by the Chair of a Department to allow a course not normally permitted, to fulfill an academic requirement. Course Substitutions are done at the discretion of a Department Chair.
Synchronous Online courses include only online instruction that occurs during the course’s scheduled meeting times. This is the traditional online instruction format in which students’ attend courses online as opposed to in-person.
Students enrolled in an in-person hybrid course will attend that class between one and three days in person.
