Perhaps the live-action return of Janeway in the Star Trek universe is something that could become a reality. Previously, Kate Mulgrew starred as Captain Kathryn Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager from 1995 to 2001.
Seven of Nine appeared on Star Trek: Voyager between 1995 and 2001, and in 2020 in Star Trek: Picard. Background. Seven of Nine's backstory was explained during the course of Star Trek: Voyager. She was born on the Tendara Colony on Stardate 25479 to Magnus and Erin Hansen, and was named Annika.
Janeway, though immovable, is not unemotional. Finally, Seven admits, “I cannot function this way — alone,” and it’s then that Janeway makes her a promise. “You aren’t alone,” she says, “I’m willing to help you.” This act of grace sets in motion a remarkable relationship between two of the strongest women in sci-fi history.
After a Borg cube destroys itself to save Voyager, Seven is transported aboard the Federation ship. Janeway is injured, leaving Chakotay in command—but he distrusts Seven and the Borg and after he refuses to work with her, she sends the vessel into fluidic space to force them to develop the weapon.

"Scorpion" is a two-part episode of the American science fiction television series Star Trek: Voyager that served as the last episode of its third season and the first episode of its fourth season (the 68th and 69th episodes overall). "Scorpion" introduced the Borg drone Seven of Nine and Species 8472 to the series.

It turns out there might be a couple of reasons. In an appearance at the Denver Pop Culture Con in 2017, she told the audience that she said “no to all of that” when it came to Janeway having sex or intimate relations with other crew. “I said 'I'm not going to sleep with Chakotay… not gonna happen,'” said Mulgrew.
By the time of the series finale, "Endgame", The Doctor had managed to remove the implant, allowing Seven to pursue a relationship with Chakotay. The alternative future seen at the start of the episode showed that Seven and Chakotay were eventually married, but she died while Voyager was still travelling home.
18 yearsBut for 18 years, Seven of Nine lives as a Borg, humming with the connectivity and unity of the hive mind while she enacts the same violence done to her onto others who are assimilated. It's something she has to grapple with throughout Voyager, but before she gets to that point, she has to face her own de-assimilation.
The in universe explanation for them is that they're leftovers from her Borg implants, mechanical ribs. In reality, they were just there to disguise her corset. Because the catsuit was so tight, they included a corset to give her a more hourglass shape.
Erin Hansen was a Human exobiologist and the mother of Annika Hansen, the Human female who became Seven of Nine. She and her husband Magnus were the first Humans to closely study the Borg.

seven-yearOne of the most storied starships in the history of Starfleet, Voyager was famous for completing an unscheduled seven-year journey across the Delta Quadrant, the first successful exploration of that quadrant by the Federation, as well as numerous technological innovations and first contacts.
Voyager was about 70,000 light-years away from home, and crew would often use "75 years" as the time it would take to get back home at top speed. This means the Voyager series used the old method of Warp calculation. 70,000/9.9753 is roughly 71 years.

Three seasons of Voyager went by. Janeway successfully fixed a rip in time, saved the crew from an alien virus, rescued Amelia Earheart, transformed into an amphibian (and back again), died over and over in a time loop, and, perhaps most surprisingly, refrained from hooking up with Chakotay while stranded alone with him on a deserted planet.
To fully unravel the relationship between Janeway and Seven, you first have to understand the relationship between Kate Mulgrew and Jeri Ryan, the actresses who played them — as well as Mulgrew’s relationship to the entire Trek franchise during that period. Nineties-era Trek was a big improvement from the sixties’ Original Series when it came to portrayals of women, but it still defaulted to “the male gaze”— when we watch Commander Riker hit on women who work for him on The Next Generation, for example, it’s from his point of view (how charming!) rather than theirs.
Mulgrew herself grew to appreciate Janeway and Seven’s special relationship, believing that Seven added as much to the character of Janeway as Janeway added to hers. In 2018, she told Star Trek Las Vegas, “Seven of Nine is what brought Janeway to life, as a deeply human woman... and I am deeply grateful for that.”.

For a moment, we see from her perspective: Janeway is standing directly in front of her, arms crossed, with a stony stare. The tension is palpable. Reporters deemed her a “knockout” and said she “oozed sex appeal.”. Playboy even got in on the frenzy, calling her a “Borg babe” and touting a feature with her on their cover.
Captain Janeway , acting as the long reach of the Federation, authorizes the Doctor to remove the cybernetic implants that they both know Seven would not elect to have removed. In “The Gift,” Seven begs to be returned to the Borg, begs not to be turned into a human against her will.
When she plugs herself into the Borg cube on Picard, Seven fears she might like being the Borg Queen, she might want to keep control of the drones even after their skirmish with the Romulans. As the Borg Queen she drives the Romulans out of the cube and a member of Picard’s crew looks at her and asks, “Are you going to assimilate me now?”#N#Still the queen, she replies in the voices of the Borg, “Annika is not done yet.” Seven is unplugged from the cube and seems a little shocked by what she said. The moment shows both that Seven doesn’t quite know the limits of herself or her Borgness and that we and the Federation have more to learn about what it means to be Borg and xB. Seven may have been unique for her kind, but she is far from the last—and that’s exactly what it means to be queer, trans, and nonbinary. We follow in the footsteps of our forebears, declaring that we don’t have to assimilate—you have to change.
Seven has always represented layered and conflicting identities. And during Picard ’s finale, the way she both helps the humans on Picard’s crew and the xBs aboard the cube highlights how far she's come in learning to accept and reconcile her many identities.
As a child, Seven was taken to the Delta Quadrant by her parents who were exobiologists studying the Borg. For three years, her parents trailed, observed, and tagged the Borg aboard one cube, all in the name of science. One day, they got too close, their cloaking failed, and all three were assimilated.
When Seven makes her epic first appearance on Picard, she arrives as a lethal space ranger on a revenge mission. She’s hunting down the human that killed Icheb, or rather, left him in such a terrible condition after harvesting his cybernetic implants that it was Seven who pulled the trigger at Icheb’s behest.
Seven was around six years old at the time and her family might have been the first humans assimilated into the Borg. Though we never see Seven’s assimilation, we know that unlike adults who are assimilated, she was placed in a maturation chamber where her synaptic pathways were remapped.

J7 was a complicated relationship. Janeway was on a mission to turn Seven back into a human being. Starting out, Seven was a wild animal -- the Borg had been her world for eighteen years.
Welcome to the board, John. I have to say, your threads sound a bit like essay questions to be completed upon watching said show. But sure, as the seasons progressed, Janeway was written more & more as a protective and caring captain towards her crew, rather than professional and little-to-no mingling with the crew.

I loved how Voyager explored women’s friendships far beyond what had been done before in Trek. Janeway mentored and nurtured Seven emotionally, helped her accept her new life and adapt to the crew, took great risks for her at times--a complex relationship with ups and downs.

After some time, Seven begins to question why Captain Janeway continues to make contact with alien species as they travel back to Earth , as it often results in incidents. Janeway explains that Voyager' s purpose is exploration and will continue that mission despite any problems that might occur. While working in astrometrics, Seven detects an ancient alien communications platform which connects all the way back to the borders of Federation space. This results in the first successful communication with Starfleet since Voyager was stranded in the Delta Quadrant, although it does also result in angering an alien race upon first contact; the Hirogen had claimed the platform for their own. The crew subsequently receive messages from home through the array, but the ship is once again threatened by the Hirogen. Tuvok and Seven transport aboard the array to speed the downloading of the messages, but are captured and tortured by the aliens. They are rescued by Voyager, but the communications array is destroyed. When the crew find a member of Species 8472 being hunted by the Hirogen, Seven is reluctant to help her former enemy as it would put the ship at risk of destruction from the Hirogen. When the Hirogen threaten Voyager, Seven disobeys Janeway's command and transports the alien aboard a Hirogen ship. In response, the Captain punishes her by restricting her computer access and curfews her to the cargo bay where her Borg regeneration unit is set-up.

She becomes involved in a time-travel plot once more when Captain Braxton of the Federation timeship USS " Relativity " pulls her out of the timestream to help prevent the destruction of Voyager. The travel has effects on her body, and she dies, resulting in an earlier version being pulled out of time. During the investigation, it transpires that it was Braxton himself who planted a bomb on the ship and together with the crew of the Relativity, Captain Janeway manages to apprehend Braxton before he plants the device. Seven encounters three former Borg with which she previously formed a mini-collective after their scout vessel crashed on a planet; where the other three were assimilated as adults, Seven's childhood assimilation left her panicking at being separated from the Collective and facing an individuality she didn't know how to cope with on her own. She forced this collective on them because they were becoming individuals, which has caused the trio to keep a mental connection even after their eventual disconnection from the rest of the Borg. During the course of " Survival Instinct ", the link is terminated, causing each of the former Borg to be predicted to die within a month.
It was decided that Captain Kathryn Janeway needed a contrasting character, and so Seven of Nine was developed to fill this role. It had been a previous Star Trek staple to have a character that could provide a third-person view on the human condition, prior examples including Spock in Star Trek: The Original Series, Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Odo in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine .

In 2386, nine years after the USS Voyager returned to Earth, Seven's surrogate son Icheb was abducted by Borg harvesters.
Her initial costume as seen in "Scorpion" and the following episode, "The Gift", saw Seven of Nine as a full Borg. This outfit took some two-and-a-half hours for Ryan to get into, but an error was made in measuring the outfit by not taking into account the prosthetics that she was required to wear for the part. This cut off the blood supply through her carotid artery, causing her to pass out on two occasions. After a nurse was called twice to supply oxygen, the costume was modified to stop it from happening again.
