One survey estimates it is available on 99.7% of Windows computers, and 98.05% of Macs. On the one hand, this makes it a very safe bet – you are almost guaranteed your presentation will appear as you intended on all devices, but on the other hand, you may not stand out from the crowd as much as you may like!
Garamond’s typefaces however (there are 34 attributed to him), were designed in the Roman style, with the letters’ ascenders vertical and the crossbar of the letter ‘e’ horizontal, instead of slanted as in earlier calligraphic fonts.
Serif fonts have little ticks or ‘wings’ at the end of their lines , and are usually associated with serious, business-like, intellectual content, whereas sans serif fonts – like this one – have no marks on the ends of their lines, and are usually seen as modern, sleek and clean.

There are some very general fonts like Arial, Courier and Times New Roman. Some people, especially in PowerPoint, are using (too) many fonts and exotic fonts that they use on the slides. We recommend to use 2 different fonts, or better to use only one consistent font, but vary in the font family. A font can be set to normal, bold and italic.

A common problem is the lacking of fonts that you used on your original computer, that are not present automatically on other computers.

While these are definitely restrictive, if you want to truly be compatible across all devices, those are the few you can use.

There are two options for embedding fonts. The first one is saving only those characters that were used in the slides. And the second one is to save and embed all characters.
