Learning how to ride

I really want to learn how to ride, but have no experience and no one I know personally rides. So, I signed up for a local MSF Basic Riders course but didn’t have the “go at your own pace and don’t rush” experience I was hoping for.

Opinion regarding CC

Being a new rider, I don't want to invest a ton of money into my first bike. Looking around the internet I came across a few different models that are under 500cc that would really suit me as a first bike, notably the ninja 400 and the CRF300L ABS.

Any tips or tricks on what to ask when buying a bike? What to look for? Anything to pay attention to while going for a test drive? Im in the market rn and have no idea where to start. Is it better to buy from a. Dealership, secondhand from someone else or does it depend on the situation?
