To qualify as an NRA instructor, there are certain requirements you must fulfill. The requirements to become an NRA instructor include: Complete the basic course for the discipline you wish to teach. For example, if you wish to become an instructor for pistol shooting, then you’re required to complete the NRA Basic Pistol course.
Does NRA basic pistol course ever expire?? There is no expiration date on NRA training certificates. CGS 29-28 states only that the applicant must successfully complete an approved course of training. The NRA site discusses the only certifications with expirations are for instructors. NRA Basic Instructor Training is designed to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basic Firearm Training Courses.
The course includes 11 lessons and takes approximately 8 hours to complete.
Pistol Shooting Errors. Clearing Pistol Stoppages. Cleaning and Maintenance. Selecting Pistols, Ammunition & Accessories.
The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course covers state pistol permit requirements. This course is at least 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. After you complete the course, you will get a certificate and/or letter stating you completed the course.
These five classifications are: single shot pistols, multi-barreled pistols, revolvers, semi-automatic pistols, and automatic pistols.
