What does a U grade mean?

A grade of U (unsatisfactory) is issued when a student does not pass a developmental course. These grades have no impact on a student’s GPA. A student may repeat a developmental course, but will be academically dismissed from Nassau Community College after the third unsuccessful attempt in any developmental course.

A grade of S (satisfactory) is issued for successful completion of developmental courses. A grade of U (unsatisfactory) is issued when a student does not pass a developmental course. These grades have no impact on a student’s GPA.
