Should you enroll in courses but fail to successfully complete the course, you could become personally financially responsible for the costs of your tuition and fees, plus be required to pay back the loans, grants or scholarships that you received.
Students with a prior suspension from MTSU or previous institution (s) are not eligible for probationary status and will be suspended for 2 semesters (not including summer) if the retention standard is not met. Students placed on academic suspension are provided the opportunity to appeal for early reinstatement.
For students who are graduating in December, studying abroad or who will simply not be enrolled at MTSU for the spring term, you can submit a cancellation request to be refunded a portion of their housing prepayment (based on the dates as outlined in the Student Housing License Agreement) as well as a reversal of Spring housing charges.
If you do end up writing the final and failing the course, you would just have to retake it whenever you can. I thought of deferring it but it's in less than 2 hours.

Students can retake a course to raise their GPA. The first attempt will replace the previous grade, no matter the grade. On a second attempt, the grade will no longer be replaced, and its hours will be added into total GPA hours. More information can be found on the MTSU One Stop website.

Academic suspension is an official notification that a student has earned a semester grade-point average of less than 2.00 while on academic warning.
Intended as a red flag to let students know they need to get back on track, academic probation is the result of failing grades. Experts say that typically means below a 2.0 grade point average, though that number can vary by college and even by the specific program of study.
To view final grades, access PipelineMT, select Registration & Student Records left menu, then click Final Grades in the Academic Records box. If you have a hold, you won't be able to see your grades. You can come to the MT One Stop counter, show a photo ID, and ask to see your grades.
When an Academic Integrity referral is submitted, the Director of Academic Integrity sends the following message to the student via MTSU email:
Beyond the grade penalty, other potential disciplinary sanctions may be imposed, including, but not limited to, verbal or written reprimand, probation, suspension, or expulsion from MTSU.

Fifteen or sixteen semester hours of credit is the “normal” Fall or Spring load for students who wish to graduate in four years. Eighteen semester hours (excluding courses for audit) is the maximum load for a student during any semester while enrolled only at MTSU or concurrently at another institution.
New students generally do not meet with an advisor until attending a Customs new student orientation session during the weeks before the first semester at MTSU. If you are a current or returning student, you can schedule an advising appointment to meet with your college advisor.

If a student is reported as ‘Stopped Attending’ or ‘Never attended’ in all enrolled courses within a semester, the student is considered to be “ unofficially” withdrawn from the university. Withdrawals may have serious impact on the student’s financial aid status.
In addition, if you officially or unofficially drop below half-time status, MTSU will notify your loan servicer that you are no longer enrolled at least half-time. Your six month grace period for loan repayment will begin on the date of dropping below half-time status.
A financial aid suspension means the student can still attend MTSU; however, the student will not receive financial aid. An academic suspension means the student cannot attend MTSU for the length of the suspension even if eligible for financial aid. These are two different suspensions, and there are two different appeal processes that are independent of each other.
To determine your financial aid status, divide your “overall combined” earned hours by your “overall combined” attempted hours.
When a student drops courses after the census date, it will lower the pass rate. If your pass rate drops below 67%, you may be granted warning status for one semester. Students are allowed to receive financial aid while on Financial Aid Warning.
In short, this means that a student is required to pass 67% of all attempted hours in order to remain eligible to receive financial aid.
Due to the demand of single-person accommodation on campus, MTSU also offers Private (PVT) rooms. Private rooms are typical double-occupancy rooms with two sets of furniture, but only one person is assigned to this space.

If you fail a course, you obviously will earn 0 credits towards that graduation requirement. So, you will need to take an additional class to make-up those failed credits. It may mean you take an additional class load the following semester or summer school.
And if you are failing a required class, you might want to ask yourself if your major is indeed the right one for your skill set. Talking to your college advisor is also a good plan for your situation.
Top league colleges will not give you admission because your academic scores do not add up. Most qualifying exams have a cut-off percentage determined which may not entitle you to apply for the exam. There is a little leniency towards SC/ST & OBC class though. But, there are a few things that do not require qualifying marks such as skill-based certifications. They are valued more than your degree certificates. I know people who were extremely bad at math, but are now excellent coders or data science enthusiasts doing very well for themselves.
If you are not going to get a degree (which you won't, if you don't pass a required course), you will not be allowed to walk with the rest of the class. And you shouldn't be allowed. Students parade at commencement to show, symbolically, that they have completed and passed a long list of requirements.
In such cases, it is a good thing to be honest about your shortcomings. I have been questioned many times as to why my academics are not that great. I figured I could lie about it with well thought out reasons or just admit to my then shortcoming. Most hiring managers are smart and can see through BS right away. Honesty is the best policy. Once you gather experience in a particular job/domain, your marks are overlooked. You do not even need to put it on your resume after a few years.
Otherwise, many schools have a “grade forgiveness” option where you are allowed to retake the course and potentially replace the grade.
