LEO: How do I copy components from one course to another? (Faculty)

  2. Select the component(s) that you would like to copy and then select one of the following options: Copy all items. Select individual items to copy. ...

How long after copying a course to check content?

You will also receive an email confirming that the course copy was successful and is complete. We recommend you wait at least 30 minutes after copying to check content in your course; there have been cases where the "copy complete" email arrived before the system had actually finished the process. Initiating the copy again during this interval will ultimately create duplicates requiring tedious clean-up.

Can you copy a group discussion post?

For Discussions, choose whether you want the first post in each thread to be copied into the receiving course. If you have Group Discussions, unfortunately, student posts (minus the names) will be copied over no matter which option you choose. Leave yourself time to delete them before you populate your groups and make them visible.

Reusing content inside UNM Learn is easy and powerful. You can use the Course Copy function to copy a class from one semester to another; to move materials from a temporary course to a real one, to copy from a child to a parent course if you have grouped your classes, etc.

Copying is an additive process! If you copy items that you copied before or that are already in the course, duplicates will be created including any associated grade book columns.

When you copy, the course availability of the source course is applied to the destination course. If the destination course's availability is set to unavailable, but the original course is available, the destination course's availability is changed.

When you copy a course without enrollments into a new course, the delegated setting is brought over as enabled for all existing delegated grading assignments. The instructor who copies the course is set to grade all submissions and reconcile grades.

Can you copy a link to a course file?

Copy Links to Course Files: No copies of linked files are included in the copy. The copied course will have the same set of links. Those links will point back to the original location of the link defined in the origin course.

Can you edit a course ID?

The course ID can't include spaces or characters other than numbers and letters (A-Z), dash (-), underscore (_), and period (.). The course ID must be unique and remain static. After you create the copied course , you can't edit the course ID.

Can you copy a course?

You can only copy materials into a course if you have the role of instructor, teaching assistant (TA), or course builder. Copy Course with Users (Exact Copy): Copy user records, such as grades and discussion posts, to the new course. Everything in the course is copied to the new course exactly as it appears in the existing course.

Can you copy a course on Blackboard?

A course copy operation can't be completed if you don't select at least one of these areas: Content, Contacts, or Settings. If you don't select one, a warning appears and Blackboard Learn can't create a new course.

Is attendance included in a copy of a course?

Attendance data isn't included when you copy a course into a new or existing course. The attendance option is removed from the copy options.

Archive Your Course

If you wish to archive a past or recently ended course, we recommend using the archive function. This will allow you to save a .zip file to your computer containing all the content of your course. This .zip file can be imported into a future myLesley course or safely saved in your OneDrive on Office 365.
