IEPs are full-time educational programs that: Provide non-native English-speaking international students with instruction in grammar, reading, writing, and speaking. ▪ Focus on English for high-level daily communication and academic study, and serve students with varying levels of English proficiency.
The Academic Intensive English Program (AIEP) is a 9-level full-time program that emphasizes all major language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

120 creditsFor FIUs University Core Curriculum (UCC), Transfer & Transition Services can waive the 1 pending credit to meet a requirement, however, because waivers do not award credit, you may need to complete additional credits at FIU to meet your 120 credits (or more) to graduate.

2 yearsFor high school and transfer students: Completion of 2 years of the same foreign language in high school prior to admission into FIU. For high school and transfer students: Completion of appropriate foreign language accelerated credit mechanisms (e.g., AP, A-Level, IB, CLEP) in high school.
All undergraduate students at the University must fulfill the University FLENT/FLEX foreign language requirement. You probably took two years of a modern language in high school.
