These new courses have less sentences (so you don't get to see how to use the vocabulary you're learning) but have almost the same vocabulary as the older courses. Even if there's some mistakes or outdated vocabulary in the older memrise courses, the sentences are important enough to me that it makes the newer courses not as good as the older ones.

The Goethe Institut says you need about 1,300 words for A2 as against about 2,400 words for B1.
It isn't hard, if you work through A2 and a few sample exams. You must though practise all skills equally. Yet A2 is still a Beginner Level. Passing the B2 exam is another story, because you will have to immerse yourself in German life and culture and Television and newspaper in order to pass the exam.

So, I did it, in a matter of 6 months I was able to reach this level, and now the discouragement hits, I was getting more confident about my german skills and then I decided to watch a show in German, and then I realized I am nowhere near fluent, the slang and the vocabulary, I had to pause like every 2 minutes.

I decided to start learning German seriously. I’ve been “learning” German for 6 years now (not really learning, just going to courses and doing pretty much nothing, even skipping most of the classes). I have A2.2 diploma although I’m pretty sure my knowledge is much worse.
I really like watching Sitcoms and tv shows like Friends and/or Brooklyn 99 and I thought it would be a good idea to watch similar German shows.
