NSC recommends that you complete your registration within 30 days of the date of issue on your Notice of Suspension. You must successfully complete the DRP at least four business days prior to the suspension date noted for your requirement. Visit our secure website MA DRP Registration to register today.
Due to classroom capacity, please contact National Safety Council at [email protected] at least two weeks prior to your scheduled class date to reserve a seat if you plan to have someone attend with you.
Assuming that your bachelor’s degree was completed in 128 semester units, and you will get an A in your retaken physiology class that is 5 units, that retaken class will only bump your 2.90 GPA up to a 2.94. Many bachelor’s degrees are more than 128 semester units, so in reality, it may not even raise your GPA this much.
The Massachusetts Law section is 40 questions, and the General section is 80. You'll have four hours to complete the test, and need to get a 70% on each section to pass the exam and get your license. Don't fret too much, though - you can take the exam as many times as it takes to pass, and we'll go over testing strategies in class.
Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) helps teachers, parents, and students know where students are excelling and where they need help.
MCAS helps the Commonwealth identify schools and districts that need additional support. The next-generation MCAS reports your child's scores in new categories that better show whether your child is meeting expectations in their grade level.
National Safety Council (NSC) / Massachusetts driver retraining program. The RMV may require you to attend the Massachusetts driver retraining program. This program is sponsored by the National Safety Council and aims to change an operator's behavior behind the wheel, as required by Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 175 Section 113B.
The RMV may require you to attend a driver attitudinal retraining course. This class is required for certain Junior Operator License/permit suspensions. The operator may choose from several course options in order to fulfill a driver attitudinal retraining requirement.
You must bring proof of enrollment or completion in a drug or alcohol counseling and/or education program to an RMV hearings officer during a reinstatement hearing.
Drug or alcohol counseling and/or education program. The RMV may require you to attend a drug or alcohol counseling and/or education program. The operator may attend any alcohol counseling and/or alcohol education program which has been approved by the Department of Public Health to fulfill this requirement.
The MassCore program includes four years of English; four years of mathematics; three years of lab-based science; three years of history; two years of the same foreign language; one year of an arts program; and five additional "core" courses such as business education, health, and/or technology. MassCore also includes additional learning opportunities including AP classes, dual enrollment, a senior project, online courses for high school or college credit, and service or work-based learning.
Students must earn a passing score on the grade 10 MCAS tests in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, and one of the high school Science and Technology/Engineering (STE) tests (Biology, Chemistry, Introductory Physics, and Technology/Engineering) to meet their CD requirement (exceptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic are noted below).
Students may fulfill the CD requirements through the standard MCAS tests or by submitting an MCAS competency portfolio. Students who do not pass the MCAS tests in grade 10 may take retests according to these participation guidelines in grades 11 and 12 and beyond.
69, § 1D, requires that all students who are seeking to earn a high school diploma, including students educated at public expense in educational collaboratives and approved and unapproved private special education schools within and outside the state, must meet the Competency Determination (CD) standard, in addition to meeting all local graduation requirements.
Students with IEPs who do not meet the state's CD standard will remain eligible to receive educational services until they meet all graduation requirements or turn twenty-two years of age.
The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education voted to adopt temporary modifications to CD requirements due to the impact of COVID-19. These modifications are shown in the tables below.
The EPP is not required for students in the classes of 2020–2022, who are eligible for the modified CD. It will be required in school year 2021–2022 for subsequent classes.
PA school admissions committees need to know that you have mastered the basic science material on which the PA school curriculum relies. If you get a poor grade in an important class, they will wonder if you can handle that kind of material and if you will have the foundation on which to build.
You don’t need to retake classes at the same institution. In most cases, PA schools care very little where you took a course. If you can choose a better instructor or a better program, do it; the point is to do well at the course.
The first thing you need to be clear about is that retaking classes (in most cases) has a minimal effect on your GPA, because retaken classes don’t replace your low grades – they average in with them. That’s right: your low grade won’t be dropped – the retaken class grade will be added to it and averaged. For example:
Retaking classes is time consuming, expensive, and generally a pain in the hip extensors ( look them up, if you don’t know what I’ m referring to…) But in some cases it is exactly what needs to happen to get you over the bar and into PA program.
A few more things to remember: There isn’t much sense in retaking a course for a mediocre grade – doing so will raise your GPA even less. And if you do poorly on a course the second time you take it, you have reinforced the idea that you can’t handle that material – not at all what you want.
Getting your real estate license in Massachusetts is a three step process: Take the 40 hour real estate class at a licensed MA real estate school (that's us!). Massachusetts requires that real estate license candidates take the 40 hour pre-license class before taking real estate license exam. The classes cover everything you need to know ...
The weighting of the different test topics (financing, contracts, agency law, etc.) changed a little on September 1st, 2018, but the material is still the same!
Massachusetts Real Estate Test Basics. The first thing to know about the Massachusetts real estate license exam is that you won't take the test during your real estate licensing class. Instead, you'll take it with PSI Exams, who administers the licensure testing for the State of Massachusetts. PSI offers the test most days ...
You're allowed to use a calculator on the MA real estate exam (but not the one on your phone!), and you'll only get around 8-10 total math questions total. And don't worry, the license test math itself isn't too hard - the hardest problem types are stuff you learned in 9th grade.
Real estate classes: $300-$400. The price will vary depending on the schedule you choose, but with materials your classes will cost around $300-$400.
Massachusetts requires all real estate license candidates pass a background check before taking the real estate test, so you'll send your course completion paperwork to the State along with a test application to get approved to take the license test. Worried about the background check?
