The F grade indicates that the student’s performance in the required exercises has revealed almost no understanding of the course content. A grade of F should warrant an advisor’s questioning whether the student may suitably register for further study in the discipline before remedial work is undertaken. AB.
The FA grade is given when the undergraduate student did not attend the exam, and could not pass the course regardless of performance on the exam. This would be appropriate for a student that never attended the course or has excessive absences in the course, as well as missing the exam. Work incomplete.

In Florida, Standards of Academic Progress require a student to maintain a grade point average of 2.00 or above on the 4.00 numeric grading scale. The 100-point scale is a percentage-based grading system. In a percentage-based system, each assignment regardless of size, type, or complexity is given a percentage score: four correct answers out of five is a score of 80%. For example, daily homework may be counted as 50% of the final grade, chapter quizzes may count for 20%, the comprehensive final exam may count for 20%, and a major project may count for the remaining 10%. Grading on a curve means that you (as a student) and your grade in an exam is relative to the grades of your classmates. While it’s not required for all teachers to practice curving on a grade, plenty of teachers in all types of formal education do this when they think it’s necessary to help more students pass.
A lot of students disagree on grading on a curve because it breeds unnecessary competition on scores rather than focusing on one’s ability to understand the material. Let’s say that in Ms. Halsey’s class, there are 10 students who understand the material completely and can get A’s in a regular non-curve grading system. However, if they were in a class of 40, curving will only allow eight people to get A’s. This means that it’s not enough to get a grade of 90 and above to get an A; if you get a 94 and eight other people get higher, you end up getting a grade lower than you deserve.
However, that’s not to say that curving is a totally bad practice that should be removed from the education system. Curving still has several benefits in learning. One is the way it fights grade inflation.
D is not a passing grade in most systems, but in most cases in a University it will still get you credit for your course and you won't lose credits or money. However, a grade of D is not likely to count as a prerequisite for higher level courses.
That depends on the class and where you earned the D grade. If you earned the D in grade school or high school, it means passing but below average. If you earned the D grade in college or a university, it could mean "minimal passing" or "conditional failure.".
A "D" in high school is a passing grade, but it is below average. It will reflect on your GPA, hence your chance of getting into the college of your choice. Minimum score for algebra 1 is a 55 I believe. To pass a class in high school you usually have to have a grade that averages to a 70 for the year (or semester for the semester long classss). In speech I used to strategically skip out on lengthy assi.
