If abbreviating takes away from the title of the course so you can't really tell what the real name is, it is ok to use the full name. As long as AMCAS can match it to you're transcript you're fine. But make sure everything else is exactly the same (course number, credit hours, etc.)

May 25, 2014 · From the AMCAS Instruction Manual: "Enter the exact course name in English and the exact course number as they appear on the official transcript in the designated fields. If the exact course name does not fit, enter a logical abbreviation.
The applicant took four courses, three of those courses were classified as Biology (€). These courses are not included in the BCPM GPA. The applicant received official transcript (£) grades of P for all courses. The total credit hours earned for this semester was 12. Their AMCAS grades (¥) are converted to P for all courses this semester.
If there is a direct course it equates to (and especially if that name appears on your transcript), you can write the name as well. As far as I know, you cannot add coursework after submitting your app, and AMCAS will return your app if all classes you add do not appear on your transcript.
Whether it's ap transfer credit your university granted, a class you took twice in different semesters, or courses with the same course name but different course number. It all goes in. You're replicating your transcript into the AMCAS app, generally speaking you don't get to cherry pick or omit things.

So, yes, you can do poorly in required courses and still get into med school, but, they may require that you retake and pass the course with a higher grade. It depends on the particular program how the grades "count".
If you received a C or higher in a course, there is no need to retake it. It is far more impressive for a student to take new upper-division biological science courses and excel in them rather than to repeat lower-division coursework.Dec 20, 2021
