If you are looking to be a typical "cragging/toproping" guide just do the WFA. A WFR is the standard for most outdoor education and guiding programs out there. The scope of the WFA is more basic patch-ups and a general overview of best first-aid practices.

The Five-Day WFR course has been subject to 10 years of development and testing. The pilot courses have been well received and very effective. However, we do need to emphasize that conscientious preparation is essential for success. This is not a short-cut version of our standard course.
