What is Land Navigation

Land Navigation is an event that tests your ability to find points on a course, for OCS the course is Red Diamond, using a compass and a map. The length of the event is four hours, two hours in the dark and two hours in the morning.

From start to finish what can I expect?

Before you go out to the land navigation course you will get a couple of days of in class lesson lecture. Ours was two days, both being 8-hour courses. If you already did land navigation in basic, like I did, it was a refresher. Literally follow exactly what they tell you in class and you will succeed.
