Failure to complete the course(s) in question by the end of the third attempt will result in dismissal. While on rate-of-progress probation, a student will be restricted to no more than four courses (13 equated credits) each semester.
The 16-credit limit applies cumulatively to courses taken in all CUNY colleges. If two or more failing grades have been received for the same course and a grade of C or better is subsequently earned, all of the failing grades may be recalculated, subject to the 16-credit limit.
That means courses that you enroll in the winter session will be added to your spring semester enrollment for the purpose of calculating a Federal Pell Grant for the spring term. Due to changes in Pell Grant funding, you can now receive Pell Grant for up to the equivalent of 3 full-time semesters.

You can withdraw from a course during the first three weeks of the semester for a partial refund of your tuition. Between the third week of the semester and the withdrawal deadline, you may withdraw from a course and receive a "W" on your transcript, which will not impact your GPA.
The CUNY "F" Policy allows for an "F" grade, or any administrative failing grade, such as "WU" or "WF," to be excluded from the calculation of your cumulative GPA if you retake the failed course and receive a grade of "C" or better, and then fill out the Students must then fill out the "F" Policy application form [link] and submit it to the Office of the Registrar. You should receive an email to your Hunter email account within 24–48 hours of being auto enrolled into a wait-listed course. However, you should check your CUNYfirst account to confirm. Depending on where you fall on the list, you could automatically be enrolled in the course, but you are not guaranteed a seat.
Check CUNYfirst often to see if you have been enrolled. Once per hour, CUNYfirst will look for classes which have an open seat. It will run a process (called “auto enrollment”) which selects the next eligible student and enrolls them into the class.
