Coursera offers two types of subscriptions, Specializations and Coursera Plus. Use this article to learn how to cancel each type of subscription and specific details around cancelation.
When you subscribe to a Specialization, your payments will automatically end once you complete all the courses in that Specialization.
Because all Specialization subscriptions begin with free trials, you can't get a refund for a payment made on a subscription after the free trial ends. There are no partial refunds for subscriptions, so you'll need to cancel before your next payment date.
You will still have paid access to the Coursera Plus catalog until the end of the billing period. Once the subscription expires, courses you were subscribed to will disappear from your My Courses page.
If you want to pause or suspend a subscription, you'll need to cancel, then restart the subscription when you return. We'll save your work, but your personalized deadlines will reset when you resume your paid course access.
Unenrolling and Refunds. If you unenroll from the verified track of a course within the refund eligibility period, within 14 days after payment or within the first 14 days of the course, whichever comes last*, you are unenrolled from the course and automatically receive a refund for your course payment. * (Up to 180 days after your payment maximum)
To unenroll from a course, follow these steps: 1. Visit your edX dashboard at https://courses.edx.org/dashboard. 2. On the Courses page of the dashboard, find the course that you want to unenroll from. 3. Select the Settings 'gear' icon next to the View Course or View Archived Course button.
In courses that were purchased as part of a program bundle, you will have the ability to change course sessions in addition to unenrolling for a refund. For these courses, if the refund eligibility period has passed (meaning that you will not receive a refund), the unenroll option is not available.
If you unenroll from the verified track of a course AFTER the refund eligibility period has passed, you are unenrolled, but will not receive a refund. If you have earned a certificate the unenroll option will not be available and we are unable to provide a refund.
If you are a Master's student and you were enrolled by your institution, you will not be able to directly unenroll yourself on edX .org. Please reach out to your advisor or designated contact at the institution to assist you with dropping a Master's course.
