Students are expected to take between 12-17 credits/units per semester to maintain progress towards degree. (We recommend students take 15 credits/units per semester to remain on track to graduate within four years.) After the first year, students may take up to 18 credits/units.
Baruch College Now is a free college transition/dual enrollment program for current NYC public high school students. Specifically, the program allows participants to earn college credits while in high school (3-4 college credits per semester).
If a student fails a course that was taken on a pass/fail basis and subsequently retakes the course, a grade of C or better must be earned in order for the failing grade to be replaced.
Students who fail a course may opt to retake the course and replace the original grade in their GPA. Students must repeat a failed course if it is required in the program. Elective courses do not have to be repeated.

CUNY ePermit allows students to request permission from their home college to take some classes at other CUNY host colleges only. E-Permit can be found as an online form in CUNYfirst. Some Baruch students may apply for their ePermit via their Student Center.
Understanding ePermit: Home versus Host College. Home College – The college in which students are matriculated (pursuing a degree). Host College – The college in which students would take classes in order to transfer the credits back to the home college.
Students who apply for ePermit are taking a chance. Submitting an ePermit does not guarantee (or save) a seat at any host colleges nor at Baruch College. Submitting ePermits does not guarantee approval permission, and approval permission does not guarantee enrollment into the approved course.
Each ePermit form should have only one Baruch home course, one host college, and one equivalent host course. CUNY BA students are not required to provide a Baruch home course in the form. Baruch College does not post your ePermit grades/credits.
