Are nonresident hunting license fees refundable in Idaho?
Course credit fee will be refunded minus $25 for each assignment/exam already submitted. Refunds will be processed no sooner than 15 days after the registration date. Credit card payments are applied to the credit card; cash and debit card payments are refunded by check to the payee of the course registration.
Why do we offer star courses?
Idaho STAR will issue a replacement card for any STAR course taken within the last three (3) years for a fee of $5.00. Paper filers: You can expect your refund about 10 to 11 weeks after we receive your return. We must manually enter information from paper returns into our database.
How long is a motorcycle permit valid in Idaho?
Motorcycle Instruction Permits are valid for 6 months. The permit will allow you to ride during daylight hours only, with no freeway driving or passengers allowed.
How old do you have to be to get a motorcycle endorsement?
If you are under 21: You are required to take, and pass, a motorcycle training course. The STAR Basic or Intermediate Rider Training will meet this requirement if the endorsement is added within two years of passing the course.
Can I take the Idaho Star test?
Yes. Take your Idaho STAR completion card to your local driver licensing office and they will waive the skills test, but you must take the DMV knowledge test. Upon successful completion of the test, they will issue your motorcycle endorsement for a small fee.

What is ST in Idaho Star?
Idaho STAR offers a basic Sidecar/Trike training course for beginners - and a limited amount of rigs are provided! The Sidecar/Trike Course (ST) is designed for new sidecar and trike enthusiasts - including reverse trikes, i.e., Can-Am Spyders.
What is eRider classroom?
The eRider ® classroom uses interactive video, graphics and other features to build solid mental riding skills. Users should have a modern desktop, laptop or tablet computer and high-speed Internet connection, in addition to other system requirements. Smart phones do not provide adequate screen resolution.
What is the erider basic 2?
The eRider ® Basic II Course is designed for riders who want to develop beginning street riding skills, but who are comfortable with the basics of turning, shifting, stopping, and balancing the motorcycle.
What is intermediate riding?
Intermediate Rider Training (IRT) is designed for riders who want to develop better street riding skills but are already comfortable with the basics of turning, shifting, stopping, and balancing the motorcycle.
Do you need a permit to drive a motorcycle?
Requirements: See STAR gear requirements. A motorcycle permit or endorsement is not needed; however, a driver's license or permit is required. In order to receive your course completion card, you must attend all classroom and range sessions and pass a knowledge and skill test.
