Within Canvas, locate the "RedShelf Digital Materials" link within the "Modules" section located on the left navigation bar. By clicking the “RedShelf Digital Materials” link you'll be taken to your MyShelf page.
What is a RedShelf Access Code? A RedShelf Access Code is the code the you redeem on RedShelf's website to access your materials. You can find your RedShelf Access Code on your receipt from the bookstore.
After you log in to Blackboard, when you are in any course, you can see the MBS Direct Bookshelf link (in the Resources section), and then click on it.
Log into D2L/Brightspace and select your course under the grid icon at the top of the page. Once you are in your course, click the "Content" icon, followed by "Course Materials" or "RedShelf Course Materials". By clicking "RedShelf eBook" you'll then be taken to your MyShelf page.

Once you are logged in you should see your course on the Canvas dashboard (first screen once you log in). If you don't see it, then click on "Courses" on the left and the "All Courses." You will then see a list of all courses you have access to.
RedShelf lets the user highlight text and take notes. You can send the highlighted text and notes to friends with built-in collaborative features. Another study feature is that RedShelf will efficiently and quickly define unfamiliar words. You can have the book read aloud to you and choose the voice and pace.

If you've purchased a new textbook the code will typically be provided to you at the front of your book. If you've purchased a textbook without an access code (new or used), you will need to investigate whether you can purchase an access code separately from the Bookstore or publisher.
Make sure the pages listed are correct and then click "DOWNLOAD" to download your print job. Click "DOWNLOAD" and it should open your selected print job on a new tab so that you can download it as a PDF!
For courses where students do not need an access code to acquire their publisher courseware materials, the RedShelf link in the LMS is only used to provide students the option to opt out of the materials. To access the materials for these courses, the student simply clicks on the link in the LMS that you provided.
From there you can follow the steps on the screen to begin access. You will not need an access code. If you do not wish to participate, you may opt out using the grey opting option within your course. If you run into any issues, please contact your Pearson representative.
