I’ve let FB groups get into my head that I will not be able to find a job for a year or more (if ever) after getting my CPC. I started my Medical Billing and Coding class online through ed2go over the summer. I breezed through Medical Terminology and have just started the Billing/Coding part.
I’ve been working for a for a single-speciality practice for 7 years. In that time I went from being just a receptionist who verifies insurance before appointments to that in addition to the trainer, coder (CPC is current) for all providers, biller, working on appeals and denials, track A/R reports, and credentialing.
So, I will likely start with the CPC exam. But AAPC is extremely expensive, especially considering that I am not yet working as a biller or coder (I currently assist in the two fields but mainly monitor the pending claims and do A/R and reconciliations).
I recently sat for the CPC exam and really want to code for a living. Since I have no prior experience in the field I started looking for medical billing jobs and landed one. But now I'm not sure I made the right choice. The pay is next to nothing and I'm finding they are very disorganized.
Hi - I visited an urgent care for a matter that I wanted to keep private from my parents who I still live with. I thought I had a prostate issue but was also concerned about the slight possibility that it could be an STD (in the end it was all just my anxiety…)
