I'm trying to perfect homerun the last difficulty (I think it was Hall of Fame or something) of the Baseball minigame but gave up after 8+ hours of continuing even though It's pointless in doing so. The pithces on that difficulty are so hard the ball goes off the screen and then just appears out of …
Yakuza primarily follows Kazuma Kiryu, an orphan adopted by a legendary member of the Yakuza at a young age by Kazama Shintaro (Keep in mind, surnames typically come before the given name in Japan).Yakuza 0-6 act as a chronicle of sorts, of Kiryu’ s life with many (and sometimes large) time gaps between each title. For instance, we start off as in Yakuza 0 as a 20-year-old …

All the above, but also a Dating Sim, Real Time Strategy Lite, Baseball Sim, and you get to live the life of a…. Japanese Idol? Okay, I get the confusion but where Yakuza thrives is that it isn’t one single genre of video game. Through its minigames it explores various sides of Japan in truly interesting ways.
Although Akiyama is a close second there simply isn't any character out there quite like Goro Majima. Keep an eye out for him, because he'll have his on you.

Your journey through Yakuza shouldn't be one you feel you should have to rush through. This is a series that best reflects the idea that you enjoy the journey and not the end. Perhaps the best part of it all is that you can play as serious or casual as you want, there isn't any punishment for playing a particular way.
The Yakuza series is fun in the sense that you feel your character growing over time. Many fighting games give you a character that’s as strong against the first boss as they will be the last, but these games require you to grow into your character.
Side missions come in the form of sub stories or side stories. These optional missions give you a bit of background on the characters and the story, but the real benefit is the rewards. Completing these missions can net you anything from powerful items to new abilities.
It’s also generally a good idea to learn to dodge properly to avoid unnecessary damage. Button mashing can take you far in this game, but towards the end, you’ll find high level bosses require a bit more finesse and you’ll lack the skills and timing to take them down. So take a minute and learn to dodge.

Just because Yakuza 0 is an origin story doesn’t mean it comes without baggage both of the cultural sort – the Yakuza games are made principally for a Japanese audience after all – and of a gaming heritage that stretches back to 2005. While Yakuza 0 shares similar themes and an open-world setting, this is where its comparison with Grand Theft Auto ends. There’s no driving, very little shooting and while Kamurocho and Sotenbori are well-realised open world environments, they are only city prefectures as opposed to the state-sized land masses.
Yakuza 0 is, however, set in 1988, when the whole operation had a bit more bite to it.
While the main story thread is compelling and beautifully scripted, it’s all rather serious. The side quests, and there’s over 100 of them in total, are Yakuza 0’s comic relief.
Yakuza 0 doesn’t have an auto-save function, you need to do it manually from a phone booth. This is one of those things you’re only ever going to do once, but losing a couple of hours because you didn’t know is infuriating. Now you don’t need to go through such anguish, because you read ahead, well done you.
Hostess bars are a bit of a Japanese phenomenon, and have featured proudly in Yakuza games since the first entry in the series. At its core, a hostess bar provides a little female company for its patrons, although there are also host bars where the genders of host and patron are reversed. The patron pays for the hostess’ time and drinks (which are usually watered down and staggeringly over-priced) while the hostess laughs at jokes, listens to woes, light cigarettes and generally encourages him to buy more booze and keep coming back. Hostesses are generally considered a descendant of geisha and, while most bars employ a strict no touching policy, there are far less salubrious versions to be found in the darker corners of Japan’s major cities.
