12 year-old swing players are eligible to play Babe Ruth baseball and can register for the Prep League.
All players who will be 8 years old for the 2022 Spring season are required to attend Minor League tryouts. 8 year olds who are not selected in the Minor league draft will play in/return to the Rookie league. In most years, the league's 8 year olds are split approximately in half between Rookie and Minor.
Babe Ruth and Little League Baseball are the two most recognized leagues in youth baseball. The biggest difference between Cal Ripken and Little League is that players in the major division, Cal Ripken's pitching distance is 50 feet and the bases are 70 feet apart.Feb 12, 2020
Unlike our regular season – which emphasizes inclusion – All-Star rosters are limited by Babe Ruth baseball tournament regulations to a minimum of 12 players and a maximum of 15 players. Players are selected by Team Managers and league board members. There is no mandatory playing time rule for our All-Star teams.
