A passing score is 70% or higher. Your grade will be handed to you at the test center by the PSI proctor after you have completed the test. PSI generates a score report which provides a diagnostic of the candidate’s strengths and weaknesses.

How long does it take to retake the PSI exam?

If you fail an exam, you may schedule a retake with PSI, within 24-48 hours of your failed exam. You may continue to retake the written exam until your application expires (one year from date submitted). When your application expires, you will need to submit a new application before you can retake the exam.

Verification of Supervision

  • To be registered as a code enforcement officer in training, you must be working under the supervision of a registered code enforcement officer. If you have less than one year of full-time experience in the field of code enforcement, you must submit a Verification of Supervision form (PDF)completed by a registered code enforcement officer who is supervising your work.

  • Applicants must submit a completed registration application (Apply Online or see Code Enforcement Officer in Training Registration PDF) along with the $50 application fee. A registration as a code enforcement officer in training is valid for a period of one year.

Examination

  • You must pass the licensing exam before becoming registered. After submitting your application and proof of completing the training course, TDLR will approve your eligibility to take the licensing exam. You must complete all requirements of the application process, including passing the licensing exam, within one year of the date the application is filed.
