Cow mountain has camping sites, off road dirt bike and quad bike, hiking trails, and fishing. I went this time to their Gun Range. It took about 15 to 20 min to drive up from the Buddhist Temple. You will need a good car with a 4x4 to get all the way up.

Get great views from up on the east side of the Ukiah valley by climbing up the cow mountain. Usually I take my mountain bike up the valley view trail. From up top Clear Lake can be seen, as well as far in all directions. I'm going back there today.
Is there a fee for access to BLM land?
This BLM land has lots of trails, single track and wider fire trails for both dirt bike riding and ATVs. No fee for access. Great place for all skill levels. No running water, you have to bring your own. There are outhouses in the staging area. Can get very hot in summer.
